Dr. Alec Frits

Huntersville Veterinarian

Dr. Alec Frits was raised in the small town of Lena, located in Northwestern Illinois. He attended Iowa State University for undergraduate studies, where he obtained his bachelor’s degree in animal science. In 2018, he graduated from the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine. His professional interests include small animal soft tissue and orthopedic surgery as well as primary care medicine. He particularly enjoys spending each day doing something new and different!

Dr. Frits has two fur children: Dexter, a two year-old goldendoodle, and Daisy, a one year-old golden retriever. Some of Dr. Frits’ other interests include anything outdoors: fishing, hiking, hunting, boating, exercising, and attending sporting events. He is an avid fan of the Chicago Cubs, Bears, and Blackhawks.

Kellie Dant

Registered Veterinary Technician
Kellie is originally from upstate New York, then moved to Virginia Beach at an early age and ended up in North Carolina after her husband retired from the US Navy. Kellie graduated from Virginia Tech with a B.S. in Animal Science in 1999 and from Blue Ridge Community College with an Associates in Veterinary Technology in 2003. Kellie has dedicated her life to helping pets and their people; she volunteered at a local SPCA as a teenager, worked in the blood bank at the Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine during college and worked in small animal clinics throughout her career as a Registered Veterinary Technician. Her special interests within the hospital setting include dentistry, preventative care, multi-modal approaches to osteoarthritis care, and client education. Outside of the hospital setting Kellie likes to spend time with family, travel with her two Saint Bernards, Allie and Saint Frances, and garden.

Allison Mann

Veterinary Assistant

Allison was born and raised in South Florida she moved to North Carolina in of 2020 with her family. She is currently perusing a B.S. in biology at UNCC and plans to go to veterinary school after graduation. She loves all dogs but has a special place in her heart for pit bulls, She currently has 2. A 2 year old, Ella and 8 month old, Rhea. She has always had a passion for animals and has been working in vet med as a veterinary assistant for 4 years. Her special interests In vet med are anesthesia and nutrition. Outside of work she loves anything musical or creative and has been drumming since she was in 5th grade.

Susan Rooney

Veterinary Receptionist
After a long and successful career in retail management, Susan transitioned into a role that truly reflects her lifelong passion—caring for animals. For the past five years, she has worked in veterinary customer care, where her warmth, empathy, and organizational skills make her a valued part of the team. Susan comes from a large, close-knit family and is a proud grandmother to four beautiful granddaughters. She also shares her home with four beloved fur babies. When she’s not at work, you’ll likely find her gardening, relaxing by the pool, or enjoying time on the lake.

Xavier Robles

Veterinary Practice Manager

Xavier Robles earned a degree in Zoology from Oswego State University and has spent the past eight years working in veterinary medicine. Much of his career was shaped in emergency and specialty practices in upstate New York, where he developed a strong foundation in high-level patient care, teamwork, and fast-paced clinical environments.

After relocating to Charlotte a little over three years ago, Xavier transitioned into general practice to become a more well-rounded veterinary professional. He is passionate about developing and supporting veterinary staff, fostering positive clinic culture, and delivering exceptional customer service. His diverse background allows him to support both medical teams and clients with a balanced, knowledgeable, and compassionate approach to care.

Outside of the practice, Xavier enjoys staying active and involved in the community by participating in several local run clubs with his labradoodle, Chimichanga. He also plays in a pickleball league and enjoys traveling whenever possible.
